The HKIMR invites applications for the Institute’s Regular Research Programme. Applicants should submit proposals consistent with the Institute's overall objective of promoting research that is of strategic importance to Hong Kong and the regional economies, with a focus but not limited to the following areas:
- Monetary and Financial Stability in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region;
- International monetary and financial market developments with implications for Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region;
Studies focusing on issues that are not in line with the HKIMR's research objectives, and do not have implications for monetary and financial stability will be given lower priority.
Applicants typically hold a PhD in economics or finance, with specialization in macroeconomics or financial economics and a track record of publications in refereed scholarly journals. Good knowledge of the Asian region and experience in empirical research are added advantages.
If you are interested and meet the specific requirements, please email a proposal of 3-5 pages together with your curriculum vita to Hong Kong Institute for Monetary and Financial Research (
[email protected]). The Council of Advisers for Monetary Research reviews the proposals on a quarterly basis and deliberates on the submissions. Since the Council frequently requests clarifications of the submitted proposals, applicants should apply well in advance of their desired dates of visit.
The length of the visits is typically one month, and successful applicants will receive an attractive remuneration package, including travel and accommodation allowances.
