Message from the CEO

This is my first “Message from the CEO” since I formally took up the CEO position of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance (AoF) in mid-July. I feel honoured that I am given a chance in my new role to serve AoF’s Members, Friends, and stakeholders, and contribute to Hong Kong’s financial leadership development and research efforts. I wish to thank my predecessor, Mr. KC Kwok, for his tremendous contributions to the Academy.

During the handover period in the past few months, KC and I had met with many Members and stakeholders to listen to their insights on the needs of Hong Kong’s financial sector, as well as their feedback on the work of the Academy. I am heartened to hear that the people we met are very appreciative and supportive of the work and the broad direction undertaken by the Academy in the last four years. There are also many useful suggestions which we will can take into consideration in our future work.

I have always believed that it is important for Hong Kong as an international financial centre to facilitate knowledge exchanges between like-minded local and overseas institutions on issues of common interests. I am glad that the AoF / HKIMR had been privileged to host a series of activities attended by visitors from around the world in last couple of months. I have also been meeting with many industry associations, collaborative partners and visitors to explore opportunities for future collaborations.

Meanwhile, a number of major events and activities would be happening in the coming months, and you will receive information from us in due course. I hope to count on your continued support, and I look forward to catching up with you in our activities!

Lastly, application for the FLP 2024 is scheduled to open in October. The Programme has been a great success in enlightening leadership minds of the up-and-coming talents. I would urge you to consider nominating candidates to apply and join us on our FLP journey!
