Panel Discussion on Talent Development for Financial Industry in Hong Kong chaired by Mr Carlson Tong, Chairman of the University Grants Committee

A panel discussion titled “Talent Development for Financial Industry in Hong Kong” was held on 16 November 2020. It was chaired by Mr Carlson Tong, Chairman of the University Grants Committee and Fellow of the AoF, featuring Mr Liu Che-Ning, Vice Chairman of Global Banking, Global Banking and Markets of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited; Professor Wei Shyy, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; and Mr Andrew Weir, Regional Senior Partner of Hong Kong, Vice Chairman of China, Global Chair of Asset Management and Real Estate of KPMG.

The panel speakers had a candid discussion about the challenges and way forward of nurturing the financial talent pools for Hong Kong from the perspectives of local university, financial institution and professional service provider. The panel discussion was well received and attended by more than 60 participants, including AoF Members, academics, regulators and senior management from the Hong Kong financial industry.
