HKIMR x AoF Expert Speakers Series – China’s Property Sector – Transformation and Policy Choices

The Hong Kong Institute for Monetary and Financial Research (HKIMR) and the Hong Kong Academy of Finance (AoF) co-hosted a webinar on “China’s Property Sector – Transformation and Policy Choices” on 24 June. The webinar featured a prominent expert on China’s property sector, Ms Qin Hong, Senior Research Fellow, National Academy of Development and Strategy of Renmin University of China. It was moderated by Dr Wang Tao, Head of Asia Economic Research and Chief China Economist of UBS.

During the webinar, Ms Qin shared her insights on the driving forces, the nature and the shape of the China’s property sector’s structural transformation. In addition, she discussed what the short-term and long-term policy options are.

The webinar was well received with a total of 1.13 million real time viewers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and the rest of world. Ms Qin is a long time senior researcher on China’s property sector. Her most recent research report on this topic can be found here.
