Dialogue with SUN Yu

Mr Sun Yu, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited had an interactive dialogue with the 2025 FLP cohort at the Bank of China Tower on 7 May 2025.
During the dialogue moderated by Mr Eric Lin, Head of Greater China Research at UBS AG, Mr Sun shared his insights on the evolution of Hong Kong’s financial ecosystem, the opportunities and challenges Hong Kong’s banking industry faces, and his personal career journey.
Mr Sun and the participants exchanged views on a wide range of topics, including the positioning of Chinese banks in the current dynamic macro environment, the outlook for RMB internationalisation; digitalization in financial industry and the growing business potential in the South-East Asia region. To adapt to the changing global landscape, Mr Sun emphasized the importance of Hong Kong's unique position as a super-connector and a super value-adder for maintaining and strengthening its status as an international financial centre.
