Dialogue with Ayesha Macpherson Lau

Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, Chairman of Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes
Authority (MPFA) and Chairman of eMPF Platform Company Limited, had an
engaging dialogue with our 2023 FLP cohort at the MPFA Sheung Wan office on 6
July 2023.
During the dialogue moderated by Ms Steffanie Yuen, Managing Director and Head
of Hong Kong of Endowus and joined by 2022 FLP participant Mr Eric Cheng,
Executive Director (Policy) of MPFA, Mrs Lau shared her candid insights on the
importance of a sound retirement protection system like MPF in addressing the
challenges brought by an acutely aging population, how the revolutionary eMPF
platform will bring about a better MPF ecosystem benefiting all stakeholders in Hong
Kong and how MPF’s design features leverage the core advantages of Hong Kong
as an IFC for the social well-being. She also discussed her leadership philosophy,
such as encouraging cognitive diversity of expertise to address increasingly complex
issues of the day and striking a delicate balance between the humility of listening
and decisiveness to take the lead.
