Site Visit at HKSTP and Dialogue with Albert Wong and Aldous Mak

Our 2023 FLP cohort visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Corporation (HKSTP) and had an engaging dialogue with its CEO Mr Albert Wong and CFO Mr Aldous Mak on 23 August 2023.
The visit began with a tour at the Experience Centre which showcases the latest technological breakthroughs developed in Hong Kong, such as camera drones, new steel materials and DNA testing technology. Our cohort also had the opportunity to interact with some of the innovations like a smart robot adroit at Chinese chess.
The tour was followed by a dialogue with Mr Wong and Mr Mak moderated by Mr Kevin Choi, Chief Compliance Officer at Prudential Hong Kong. During the dialogue, the participants discussed the long-term strategies for Hong Kong’s future R&D growth, with a focus on more high value-added basic research. They also learned how HKSTP is committed to turning Hong Kong into a launch pad for more up-and-coming entrepreneurs. All the initiatives ultimately centre around the goal of maintaining Hong Kong’s standing as China’s foremost international innovation hub.
