Mr Neo Wang was appointed to his current position in October 2022, responsible for promoting the realization of the group's business growth and planning in the industrial and trading industries in Hong Kong.
Neo has over 20 years of experience in banking. Prior to HSBC, he worked in China Merchant Bank. He joined HSBC China in 2004 and held a number of positions in Commercial Banking, including Commercial Banking Manager and Regional Manager Western China. He became Head of China Desk in London in 2013, leading and managing the sustainable growth of outbound China business to the UK. Neo was appointed Managing Director and Head of Guangdong Commercial Banking in 2015 and assumed the additional role of Guangdong Co-Chief Executive in 2018. In March 2022, Neo was appointed as Managing Director, Head of Commercial Banking Greater Bay Area at HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited. In his role, he drove HSBC’s strategy execution and business growth in the via enhanced collaboration among the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macau, in addition to leading the Bank’s Commercial Banking team in Guangdong.
Neo holds a Bachelor of International Finance degree from Sun Yat-sen University and a Master of Banking and International Finance degree from Cass Business School in London.
