Mr Jonathan Cher is a Global Account Manager within Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered Bank covering a number of the largest blue-chip conglomerates in Hong Kong. He is responsible for delivering the full suite of SCB’s advisory and service capabilities to clients.
In addition, he is the Global Head of the Transportation sector at Standard Chartered, setting the firm’s strategy, overseeing risk management and delivering on the bank’s growth targets across aviation, shipping and logistics. He is an Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank (HK) Ltd.
Jonathan is also Chair of the Business Policy Unit at the British Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong. He is a HKIB Associate Green Finance Professional and member of the Treasury Markets Association.
He joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2017 as head of the Private Financing business for Greater China and North Asia and has extensive experience with structured and strategic transactions for corporates and quasi-sovereigns across a wide range of sectors.
Prior to joining the bank, he spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs in the Financial Markets division. He started his banking career with Goldman in London and after 5 years relocated to Hong Kong.
Jonathan holds Master of Arts (Natural Sciences) and Master of Science (Physics) degrees from Cambridge University.
