Matthew Cheong is currently Managing Director and Co-Head of Trading and Head
of Platform Business Development at HKEX. Matthew also runs the Structured
Products Department within HKEX. Matthew has 30 years of experience across
telecommunication, technology, high-frequency trading and listed structured products.
Computer scientist by training, Matthew's career span various technology and
business roles across US, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. Since moving to Hong
Kong in 2000, Matthew has worked in Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and
JPMorgan. Matthew led the effort to build a global equities trading platform from
Hong Kong, a first in major global banks. Before joining HKEX, Matthew was
managing director and co-head of Equities Technologies APAC and co-head
Electronic Market Making at Goldman Sachs Asia.
