Hazel Lai is a Managing Director in Institutional Sales of HSBC’s Markets and
Securities Services business. She is based in Hong Kong and heads up Sales for
Securities Services in North Asia excluding Japan. In her role, Hazel leads the sales
strategy and business development for HSBC’s market leading asset servicing
franchise for Institutional clients.
Hazel joined HSBC in 2007 and has over 16 years of experience in transaction
banking focusing on institutional clients. She held various sales positions covering
asset servicing for banks, broker-dealers, asset managers and asset owners. Prior to
joining Securities Services, she was the Regional Sales Manager for Global Payments
Solutions specialising in clearing and cash management solutions for financial
institutions. Outside of work, Hazel is a proud member of Women in ETFs Asia
Pacific and was the Co-head from 2019 to 2020 of this global ETF industry
association advocating for industry connectivity and professional development.
Hazel holds a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong.
She is a Chartered Financial Analyst holder and trilingual in English, Mandarin, and
Cantonese.
