Wang Zihao is the Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Committee at Haitong International Securities Group (“Haitong International”), overseeing the overall risk management framework at Haitong International.

Zihao joined Haitong International in 2015 with the Leveraged & Acquisition Finance team. In 2017 he moved to risk management function, first as head of Credit Risk, later as Deputy Chief Risk Officer. He chaired the Risk Management Committee, and sat on the Credit Approval Committee and Assets & Liabilities Management Committee. He helped to improve and strengthen Haitong’s risk management framework. Before becoming the Chief Risk Officer, he was the head of Alternative Asset Investment.

Before joining Haitong International, Zihao worked at Citibank for 4 years. He was a participant in the GEMA (Global Engagement Management Associate) program at Citibank. The program is supported by Citigroup’s CEO and aims to cultivate country CEOs for the future. He was the only Chinese in GEMA Class 2011. Zihao worked in New York, Brazil and Hong Kong to accumulate experiences in different business groups including consumer banking, corporate banking and investment banking. His last role at Citibank was with the Syndicated Loans & Acquisition Finance team in Hong Kong.

Zihao started his career with Sanjiu Group, a state-owned conglomerate which was acquired by Chinese Resources Group in late 2017. His first position at Sanjiu was an investment manager in Shanghai Office and later he became a senior management member of the chemical manufacturing business in Chongqing. This manufacturing experience helped him to understand the details of running a business, which proved to be quite helpful for his work in finance industry.

Zihao holds an MBA degree from the University of Michigan in the US, and a master’s degree in management & a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
