Eric Cheng is currently the Director (Policy Development and Research) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. He was Principal Assistant Secretary (West Kowloon Cultural District) of the Home Affairs Bureau from 2015 to 2019 and a consultant at the Trade and Agriculture Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development from 2014 to 2015. He had previously served in various Government bureaux and departments including the Education Bureau, the Financial Secretary’s Office and the former Health, Welfare and Food Bureau.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and a Master of Economics degree from the University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Oxford.
