Mr Calvin Yip

Calvin Yip is the General Manager of BOCHK’s Bank-wide Operation Department, overseeing one of the largest departments of the Group which has more than 2000 staff. He works at Bank of China (Hong Kong) for more than 20 years. Calvin is the Chairman of BOCHK Information Technology Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd and BOC Financial Services (Nanning) Company Limited.

BWO Department is in charge of a variety of centralisation and operational activities, including processing of loans, cheques and information, international payment, financial markets operations, vault management, group customer, integrated banking services, customer due diligence, international trade services, RMB clearing services, Southeast Asia and Nanning Operations Management. It acts as an important central point to coordinate and arrange different bank products and services offered to customers. Prior to joining BWO Department, Calvin served as Deputy General Manager of Economics and Strategic Planning Department, in charge of the formulation of the Group’s long term and annual business plan, and M&A business. He was the project leader to reorganize BOCHK's Southeast Asia business and acquired the entities and branches from Bank of China in six countries. Also, he was in charge of the sale of Nanyang Commercial Bank and Chiyu Banking Corporation.

Calvin graduated from University at Albany, State University of New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master’s Degree in Finance.
